Evangelistic Events

We share the longing of our heavenly Father who doesn’t want ‘anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance’ so we try to run a variety of events to which church family members can invite friends, relatives or colleagues who they would like to hear something of the good news of Christianity.

We strive to make each event relaxed, friendly and free from embarrassment so that all will enjoy it and want to come back.

At least one event runs each term and will include a short talk on some aspect of the gospel, sometimes an opportunity for questions, and always an invitation to find out more, usually by attending an upcoming Honest Questions evening. Previous events have included jazz suppers, Beer & Butchery, a Burns’ Night, a performance of Handel’s Messiah and more.

Every May we have a week of events with an evangelistic focus which usually include two evenings which comprise a talk, a meal and an interview with someone who has a fascinating story to tell. Interviewees have included an Olympic rower, a fashion designer, a professional cricketer, a prison chaplain and a comedy writer among others. Many church family members find this week a real spur to talk to those they love about their faith.
