Old friends: Nathan Sherwood

This term, we’re going to find out what some of the students who left SKG last year are up to. Do pray for them as we hear what’s going on, and we hope that their experiences will help us know what to expect when we move on from student life.

Nathan, what have you been up to the last term?

I've been working as the administrator at St. Peter's, a church planted from CCM about four years ago.

What have been some of the challenges?

This wasn't the job I went looking for with my engineering degree and it was a challenge to start with to really trust God would provide what I needed (though it's easy to talk like I did). In the end this has turned out to be a great job to have this year, even if it's still not quite what I would have chosen.

How did your time at SKG equip you for what you're doing now?

God has really changed me through the 4 years I spent with my head in the Bible at SKG and through the friends I made there - I known my father better because of what he taught me and how he changed me and this equips me to do the good works he gives me to do, to handle the disappointments I face and to struggle through life when it's difficult because I know my God and I look forward to meeting my saviour, Jesus.

Is there anything you want to say to the current students?

He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

It's true.
